BALANCE

Maintaining our health requires us taking an active role in caring for our spirit, mind, and body.

  • Spirit

Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5 :25 NLT

Reading the Word of God equips us for the world and gaining wisdom.

Meditation/Prayer changes things including our heart and perspective and decreases negative emotions.

Fasting consists of abstaining from food and drink and purposefully focusing on our spiritual health to gain clarity and direction.

Pastoral Counseling provides guidance based on the belief that when one learns how to explore their soul and spirit, they can truly start to heal and grow in a holistic, righteous way.

Daily devotion -Spiritual meditations read, listened to, or watched that inspire faith daily.

Retreat -Steal away to a desolate place to rest, renew, and rejuvenate.

Finding purpose -Spiritual wellbeing is the ability to discover meaning and developing purpose in our lives through a sense of connection beyond self.

Practicing selflessness -Connect with community, fellowship, serve and be of service to others.

Reflection allows us to focus on feelings, reactions, and plans for improvement. Journaling is reflection on paper.

  • Body

Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is valuable in every way, because it promises life both for the present and for the future. 1 Timothy 4:8 GNT

Sleep -Your body heals itself while sleeping. While sleeping the brain forms new thought connections, helps memory retention, and your immune system.

Lifestyle Eating - Effective nutrition can be tailored to the metabolism and health profile of the individual. Functional medicine healthcare providers can devise a customized treatment plan for you.

Hydration - Every cell in the body relies on water to properly function. Infused water helps with hydration along with appetite control, immune defense, heartburn prevention, blood sugar regulation and weight management.

Movement/Physical Activity - Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.

*Take deep breaths - Toxins in the body are discharged through deep breathing.

  • Mind

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

Psychotherapy/Talk Therapy helps people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties.

Mental Health Professionals include psychologist, therapist, psychiatrist, mental health nurse practitioners, and pastoral counselors.

Therapy Animals/ESA are therapeutic animals that assist individuals with mental or emotional disabilities. Also, animals offer unconditional love, acceptance, and companionship that encourage physical activity and a healthier lifestyle.

Relaxation techniques such as vagus nerve exercises and aromatherapy (using essential oils) can help relieve tension. Relaxation increases blood flow throughout the body, regulates blood pressure, increases energy, and promotes healing.

Mindfulness is about being in the present, paying attention to daily life, and tuning in to the things we usually rush through. A mindful walk may consist of awareness of the sounds around you, feeling of the sun on your skin, awareness of smells in the air, and noticing the clouds in the sky.

Guided imagery is a type of focused relaxation where you intentionally think of a peaceful place or scenario to calm your mind. Visualization is a relaxation strategy where you see yourself in a calm, safe, or achieved place. Close your eyes and image all the details linked to the place.

  • Be Encouraged

*Find affirmation in knowing your true identity in the Lord.

*Surround yourself with healthy support systems (spiritually, physically, and mentally).

*Free will gives us the power to choose as we approach steps to change, evolve, and maintain excellent stewardship.

*Receive the peace granted to you and find contentment in the process as you move forward in this journey called life.

*Commit to preparation and be reminded of what is planted will be harvested. Your labor is not in vain.

*Avoid giving too much time and energy to what’s attempting to hold you back. Let your energy be used toward healing. Be the light and shine.

***Balance: Serve (Give with love and compassion), Live (Go forth with stability and power), and Stay Focused (Visualize and be vigilant while living out your purpose with a sound mind).
